Is PosiGen in New Jersey?
Yes. In an Aug 15, 2023 letter to the NJ Board of Public Utilities (docket QO23070470), PosiGen said it served 25,000 customers across seven states, including New Jersey.[1] The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs roster we downloaded on Oct 31, 2026 also has records under the name PosiGen: POSIGEN NJ LLC, Electrical Business Permit 34EB01502400 (status “Closed”) and Home Improvement Contractor registration 13VH09712800 (status “Expired,” expiration 3/31/2023); and PosiGen Developer LLC, registration 13VH12147800 (status “Expired,” expiration 3/31/2026).[2] Those are license records. They don’t tell us how many New Jersey homes PosiGen served; (unverified) we don’t have a New Jersey customer count or a list of New Jersey dealers.
What happened to the company
PosiGen, PBC and affiliated companies filed Chapter 11 on Nov 24, 2025 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas (jointly administered, Case No. 25-90787). The case website’s confirmation notice says the court confirmed the plan on Feb 24, 2026 and that the plan took effect on Feb 26, 2026.[3]
Who to contact depends on your system
The case website points customers to three places, by the status of the system:[3]
- Active systems served by Renewbrook: the support site run by Omnidian, posigensupport.com.[3][4]
- Active systems served by SunStrong: sunstrongmanagement.com.[3][5]
- Work-in-process systems (installs not finished) served by GoodLeap: [email protected] or 1-800-201-1356.[3]
We could not open the case website with our reader, so check it for current instructions. Which of the three applies to your address (unverified) is something only those companies can tell you.
Keep paying your financing provider
The support FAQ says PosiGen is winding down, is no longer able to provide service and support or honor workmanship warranties to many previous customers, and that you should keep paying your solar loan, lease or PPA, with payments made to Renewbrook for the systems it took over.[4] Renewbrook’s own FAQ page is here.[6] Our suggestion: use the name on your latest bill, and ask that company in writing what your contract and warranty now cover. We have not confirmed that every New Jersey contract moved to Renewbrook.
If your system is unfinished or not working
If an installation was never finished, our abandoned-project page explains what NJBPU and NJCEP say about incentive registrations. (unverified) We have not confirmed whether any PosiGen project in New Jersey is covered by the Board’s February 2024 order, which names other installers. To have a contractor look at a system that stopped working, you can share a request or browse NJ contractors by county; we have not checked any of them for PosiGen equipment. Check your utility’s permission to operate and your town’s permits, as in step 3 of our guide.

What we have not verified
(unverified) New Jersey customer numbers; which New Jersey systems each company now services; what any warranty covers after the bankruptcy; whether any New Jersey project registered for state incentives is affected. We are a directory, not a law firm, and this is not legal advice.
