What this site is
OrphanSolarHelp is a directory, not a contractor. We don’t perform, quote, supervise, or guarantee any work. We are an advertising and referral directory — not a state licensing agency, not a lender and not a law firm. We don’t promise any warranty, price or response time. Nothing here is legal advice.
Where listings come from
California listings come from California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) public data. New Jersey listings come from the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) public license roster. Each state’s “How we check” page (California, New Jersey) says what we did and did not check. Public records and company websites can be out of date or wrong. Email corrections to [email protected].
Do your own checks
Being listed is not an endorsement. Before you hire anyone, confirm the license or registration with the CSLB (California) or the NJ DCA license verification (New Jersey), and ask what work the company does.
Requests you send
If you check the consent box on a request form, we share your request (your name, phone number, ZIP and job details) with a licensed contractor listed on this site, and that contractor may call or text you about the job. You don’t have to agree to use the site or to contact any listed contractor yourself. You choose whether to hire a contractor, and you contract with and pay them directly. Please send only your own information, and don’t put Social Security numbers, bank or loan documents or account logins in the notes. See the privacy policy for how we handle what you send.
Contractors
The contractor listing form is for contractors with a California CSLB license number. It does not yet accept New Jersey contractor listing requests. If you send it, you confirm that you can act for the company.
Fees
Today we don’t make money: the site is free for homeowners and contractors. Later, contractors may pay a flat fee per homeowner request shared with them. Never a percentage of your job. There are no paid or featured placements today; any that are added will be labeled “Paid listing”.
No warranty; limits
To the extent the law allows, the site and its listings are provided “as is”. We are not responsible for any contractor’s work, prices, statements or conduct. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that can’t be waived.
Changes
If we change these terms we’ll update the date above. Material changes will be posted on this page before they take effect.
